- Fitness- Students will be given opportunities to demonstrate their current fitness levels and be encouraged to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. Students in fourth and fifth grade take part in the fitnessgram test and take time to create a fitness plan. Students in the younger grades practice for these tests and take part in many fitness activities designed to get them thinking about their current fitness levels and what it would take to change their current level.
- Attitude- Students will be given opportunities to grow their social emotional skills of communication, respect, responsibility, understanding of self and others. Additionally, students are taught strategies to cope with both physical as well as social-emotional challenges. Many activities involve working with partners or in small groups. Some activities are designed to enhance cooperation and other to learn healthy competition.
